Jake La Botz
There is something to be said for a musician like Jake La Botz who can go from a place like LA, to a place like Sitka, Alaska, and not skip a beat. Jake came on about 10:15 PM and played for a good few hours. He took one break to run around the other side of the putting green to take care of business, and then was back on stage.
Locals from all walks of life attended the show as well as a few out of state guests. G.E.O. met this ol’ cowboy from Texas in SeaTac airport and invited him to the show. I guess flight delays can be a good thing. You can see Nicholas Galanin in the background enjoying seeing his vision come to life.
Sitkans danced to Jake La Botz into the late night. This guy is the real deal and incredibly amazing to watch, very soulful. HomeSkillet Records is extremely appreciative of Jake taking his time to come to Alaska to put on this show for the community. I picked up a copy of his album, I can’t wait to pop it in the CD Player. I suggest you do the same, Graveyard Jones is available for purchase at Amazon. Or if you are in town, we have some copies for sale at HomeSkillet Fest.
Jake flew out of Sitka this morning at 4AM, and I think we made him a fan of Sitka as much as he made all of us fans of him.
Thanks for coming Jake and we hope to see you again next year.
