Sonny Smith 7" Inch

For the lucky few to have been on the right email lists, we got a private show by Sonny Smith. Being affiliated with the label has its perks.

As with anything related to Sonny, the song comes with a story. You see, his toyota van broke down the last time he was in Portland for a show. He had to rent another van to take his band back to their homes in San Francisco. Those costs were high.

Hence, his Portland family got together to throw a, “bring back the winny to San Francisco” benefit. As I sit on a couch and write, he is playing, “Year of the Cock.” A Sonny Smith house concert is quite a treat.

He also informed me of his desire to release a 7″ full of new material and comics for the July HomeSkillet Fest. This is something to look forward to for fans of Sonny and champions of the label. The picture posted is of Sonny and his friend Garth playing music in their friend Chris’s living room.  It was a late night.
